Miriam A. Carey, RHIT, CHTS-IM
Manager of Health Information Services

 

Miriam Carey has over twenty-five years of healthcare experience and expertise, with a focus in the long-term care profession. Miriam holds an Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Management from Rasmussen College and an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Systems and Management Science. She is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and is certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and a Certified Health Care Technologist – Implementation Manager (CHTS-IM).

She is also an active member of the Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA), as well as the local chapter of her regional association, Northeast Florida Health Information Management Association (NEFHIMA).

 

Ms. Miriam has an extensive background in healthcare compliance, HIPAA privacy and security compliance, medical coding, electronic health record implementation, Policy and Procedure writing, and the record auditing processes.

Miriam is specialized in ICD-10 coding and MDS section I compliance for PDPM to reduce risk of recovery for diagnoses in payor review.

​

Miriam is also experienced with multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including​:

 

  • MatrixCare, SigmaCare, Point Click Care, and American Health Tech.

In her spare time, Miriam gardens and is an artist who paints and enjoys photography. Often you will find her with her family, reading, or enjoying leisure activities.
